You might have heard about it and been curious, or you might be like “what?!” when you hear this but yes, China does make wine! In fact, China is on its way to be the biggest wine producer by 2018!
Ahead of the Chinese National Day, here’s a chance to taste eight (how auspicious!) top quality Chinese wines. To make matters more interesting, the wines will be blind tasted alongside a few wines of similar style and values from traditional wine making countries. Last year, one Chinese wine beat out Bordeaux in the Decanter World Wine Awards.
Many of these wines are not sold in Hong Kong, so don’t miss this chance to taste some unique wines and be your own judge on whether they are at an international standard!
Wine list is as follows (canapes will be provided)
- Chandon Brut
- Chandon Brut Rose
- Dynasty Chardonnay Reserve 2011
- Grace Vineyard Tasya’s Reserve Chardonnay 2011
- Grace Vineyard Sonata Series 2010
- Kanana Winery Red 2011
- Legacy Peak 2011
